Words have power. There is nothing in heaven, or on earth as powerful as words. What you choose to say can have far reaching implications, sometimes before you even know what you are saying.
The words you choose to speak can build hope, speak life, encourage. They can also discourage, hurt, and break a heart. What else on earth can be so righteous, then turn around and become so distressful? All by the thoughts you think, and the words you to choose to speak.
I love words. I love to read them, speak them, write them. I am also the first to admit that there have been times that I have not chosen to use my words wisely, or have chosen to diregard the power of what I am speaking. Daily, I have the choice to use my words to pray to my Lord, to show love for friends and family, to communicate my needs. I have the choice to encourage, enlighten and inspire, all by what comes out of my mouth.
I want to inspire. I want to lift your spirits. I do not want to hurt you, demoralize you, or discredit you, all things I can do just by the words I choose to speak.
Words can start fights, battles, and even wars. Disparaging words are often remembered for much longer than a kind word. Words will hang in the air, echo loudly, and for far longer than the moment you speak them. Once you say them, you can never take them back. That’s power. You have a mighty power, and it’s all in the words you speak.
My friends, you have the power to change things by what you say. You can speak life into existence. Just by saying something kind to a stranger on the street, or encouraging someone else, you are changing the world. None of us know what secret battles another is going through, and I have personally experienced kindness from a stranger that has changed my day, my thoughts, and my attitude. That is power. It’s a super power.
Use this power. Use it for a stranger. Use it for your friend, your husband, your wife, your child, your coworker. Use it to pray, to confide in, to talk to your Maker. Use that superpower for yourself. Think about what you say, think about what you want, then speak it into existence. It’s simple. Your thoughts become words that you can use to create good things, positivity, and blessings. For others, and for yourself.
Our God created this whole universe, by words. He spoke this world into existence. He said it, and it was done. Are we not created in His image? Meant to behave like Him? Created to be like Him, to think like Him, to speak like Him, with life-giving words? God gave us this power, the power of our words. He wants us to use this power the way we were meant to.
Do you need healing? Comfort? Hope? Are you struggling? Waiting for something? Use those words! Use them to pray. Use them to encourage others, to encourage each other. Use them to speak positivity over yourself! Words are powerful, and words used for good, are words that can heal, educate, and change lives. Speak life!
Jesus himself is called the Word of God. Think about the significance of that. The Word of God. He is the personification of the written and spoken word. That, to me, is pretty deep.
The Bible is a book full of hundreds of thousands of words. Nothing else in existence can help you as much as this most important collection of words. They are instructions, they are encouragement. They are power.
We need to take the time to think about the relevance of what we speak. We speak thousands of words a day, but more often than not, we don’t put much thought into the potential of those words. We should.
Take the time to think about the power you have. Take time, think before you speak, and use your words wisely. Use your amazing super power. Use it for good. Use it for life.
