Bloom

She sits in darkness. Quiet. Nothing seems to be moving, not time, not her circumstances, not her life. She feels buried, covered, and small. Yet, she knows something is changing.

On the surface, nothing seems to be happening, but underneath, everything is happening. Beyond what the eye can see, something is being watered, protected, sheltered and nurtured. She is growing, and though nobody else may see it, she can feel it.

She is reaching outward, spreading tendrils upward, and she is moving through barriers, and sprouting through obstacles. Like a fresh shoot in spring, breaking ground, surviving, soon to be thriving, she is ready to grow. Soon it will be her time to BLOOM.

Maybe she is you.

Do you feel stuck, and buried? Do you feel that things need to change? Are you impatient for the difference that you have been praying for?

Maybe you feel buried where you are because you have been planted. Maybe you are that tiny seed from which much may grow. Maybe while nothing appears to be happening, deep inside, so much is happening. Growth in faith, in patience, in perseverence, until at just the right moment this growth will burst forth from darkness into light. Barely perceptable at first, but then as the light shines upon you, more and more of what has been growing inside of you will be seen.

Think about what growth requires. You can not BLOOM overnight. Growth takes time, patience, and the right conditions. When these have been provided, your time will come, and your growth will be evident for all to see, and your Gardener will be praised for the beauty that He produced. The light He gives you will be displayed as you BLOOM and share your growth and beauty with the world around you. As your Gardener has been tending to you, one day you may have your own garden of BLOOMS surrounding you, for you to tend.

Our help is in the name of the Lord , who made heaven and earth.
Psalms 124:8

Everything you have gone through, good, bad, circumstantial, things of your own doing, all of it has led you here. God uses all things for you, for your good, to develop you, to grow you, to prepare you to BLOOM, and to BLOOM for His glory. Your growth will be a testimony for yourself, and for others around you. Your beauty, your bright petals, your development, all of it will be a display of your Gardener’s mighty power, for your good, and for the good of those that may surround you.

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28

So, as you sit there, in the darkness of your thoughts, in the solitude and the quiet all around you, when you feel as if nothing is happening, think about where you are. Remember that though you may not see things working, so much is developing that is unseen. Remember that if you keep growing, keep reaching, that soon you will have that breakthrough. Think about how you have been planted, how you are growing deep roots to keep you stable, to water you and keep you vital even through drought. Think about how you are sending shoots upward, to be washed in light, to be sustained and fed by the light of your Maker. Think about how strong you are, how you persevere and push through the barriers around you, breaking earth and growing upward. Think about how others will see your leaves and petals and be captivated by them, how they may learn from your growth and how they may even turn their own searching vines towards the Light, so that they may be able to BLOOM as well. You can, and will be, a powerful testimony to the power of God, our Gardener, our Maker, and our true Light.

So take your time. Feel the stillness and the peace that comes from the knowledge that you are being tended by creation’s ultimate Gardener. Take comfort in the fact that He has a beautiful plan of growth and beauty just for you, if you let Him cultivate you. Know that it is He that has planted you, and that at the right time, with the right care, He will see to it that you BLOOM.

So happy growing to you!

Jesus said, “How can I describe the Kingdom of God? What story should I use to illustrate it? It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of all garden plants; it grows long branches, and birds can make nests in its shade.”
Mark 4:30‭-‬32

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
Ephesians 3:17

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
Colossians 2:7

You cleared the ground for us, and we took root and filled the land.
Psalms 80:9

I, the Lord , will watch over it, watering it carefully. Day and night I will watch so no one can harm it.
Isaiah 27:3
